Tentacle Beads/Wraps

Alright, so I have become a bit of a tentacle clay maker recently, there is just something about octopus and tentacles that I absolutely love! So I now have them made and ready to put onto dreadlocks, yay.

I even sell them pretty cheap if you ask me but hey, I am trying to promote my own shop So of course I'm gonna tell you that but seriously. I do sell for $10 or less as I am trying to get going and these are my first few so, anyway either go give my shop some looks and if you can't buy just favorite them. Also follow me on Instagram - Felisha_Honey I will be having a giveaway on there at some point and who doesn't love those?!

Stove top air freshener

I have attached a beautiful fall picture to which the rights are not mine, I just wanted a picture to represent the smell of this air freshener.

So, as I mentioned before I make an air freshener that I use on my stovetop to make my home smell even more like fall since my carpet powder already helps with that.

I am pretty sure there is, at least a simple or even the same recipe that I use to make this but I know that some people may not have seen those, so I'll share the one I make.

I take my smallest pot which is a pint size pot, and I fill about halfway with water which converts into 2 cups. Then I take usually (because I don't want it to be too powerful) 2 cinnamon sticks, if I want it to smell stronger I add in three but never more than that, but again it depends on your preference and the size of your home. (I just really don't like too much cinnamon it makes my nose all stuffy and I generally hate cinnamon but that's neither here nor there.) Then I add in around a tablespoon of whole cloves (if you have clove essential oil like I do, either one would work, I would suggest around 10 drops maybe more depending again on your preference). After that I cut an orange into slices and I usually make them around 1/4 of an inch thick, and I add in around 4 slices (again if you don't have fresh oranges lying around but have Orange Essential oil then I'd suggest adding in around 10 drops of that as well, or you know again, whatever your preference is) and then I just turn it up to get a boil going and then after that I turn it down to low just to simmer slowly and allow all those amazing smells to mix together and make my home smell just so fall like and amazing.

So just to make it a little more easy to follow I will list ingredients, just know that these are my preferences and every person is different, just try it with these and if there is something you want to smell more of just add more or take some away from the others.

2 cups of water
2-3 cinnamon sticks
1 Tbsp whole cloves  (10 drops clove EO)
4 slices of orange  (10 drops orange EO)

Just play around, I really don't think there would be any way to mess this up, your home and nose has it's on preferences of smell, though if you are sick with a sensitive nose that I usually get during the fall/winter months, I would suggest using half of everything besides the water.

I know this post isn't long but I woke up with swollen tonsils and now I need to sit with my head over some steaming water and drink my peppermint tea to soothe my throat.

Peace and Love

Carpet powder

So, I'm a coffee drinker, I literally do not start my day until I have my cup of java in my hand. So along with my coffee I use creamer, and I always try and find ways in which to reuse the creamer bottle, I know I could recycle but hey sometimes I need those bottles to store my own things in.

I love having a fresh smelling house and I love changing up the smells according to the seasons, for summer I had a "fresh" spray from the Downy Unstoppables, now its starting to turn into fall, I am waking up to 50 degree crisp lovely mornings where I live and I am absolutely in love with being outdoors right now. Fall is my favorite.

So along with this amazing fall weather I decided it was time to change up the smell of my home. I like making my own smells, I have a fall pot in which I make my own smell good for my home and it leaves it smelling like fall and just warm fuzzies in your belly. (I'll make a post for this soon) I also like having clean carpets hence my spray for carpet stains and now this powder for carpets which is cheaper than buying that Arm and Hammer box.

This is where my creamer canister comes in if you were wondering why I started out with that. So this powder can be a simple as two ingredients or up to as many you feel you need to add in.

A simple powder is just baking soda and essential oil, your choice, a lot of people use orange because it smells so clean afterwards. But since its fall I used a clove essential oil if you have ground clove that will work just as well.

I also add in diatomaceous earth as it helps to kill any bugs if any are present and helps to repel any that might make their way in. Here is the DE that I buy and use.

If you want to make a powder that kills bugs and can't wait on the DE then adding in a Tbsp of borax in its place will also kill any bugs in the carpets as well.

My recipe is

1 small box of baking soda
2 Tbsp DE (or 1 Tbsp of borax)
2 Tbsp ground Nutmeg
10-15 drops clove EO (or 1 Tbsp of ground clove)

mix it all together, I use a long knife or just screw the top on and shake. Then sprinkle on carpet, let sit for at least 15 minutes and then vacuum.

My house smells like you've just walked into fall and I am in love.

I know once spring is here I will be experimenting with some other fresh smells with floral essential oils.

If you try this out please let me know what smells you incorporated and if you liked it.

DIY Febreeze

This picture was found on the Internet and in no way my own.

Again, if you've been keeping up with my then you know I would rather make it before I buy it, especially if it cost more than I feel it should.

So then, I make my own febreeze, I use the downy unstoppable's to do so but I still make it my own way.

I but the "Fresh" scent because it's the one I love the most, I've tried the lavender and liked it alright too but Fresh to me was better, but I'm sure your noses might smell things differently than mine so you choose.

But I pour probably around a tablespoon of the beads into a spray bottle, add in hot, like super hot water but only around 1/4 of a cup and let it sit and let the beads dissolve. Once they dissolve I add in warm water until I feel it is full, usually not to the top because I swish it around before each use and don't want a leak. So I usually leave around an inch from the top of my 12 oz spray bottle. These beads are around $5.00 plus tax on a smaller bottle, and the spray bottle cost me a whole $1.00 plus tax at the local dollar store. I have only had to make two spray bottles worth so far from one can and I still have plenty of beads left, because this stuff lasts so much longer than febreeze, so I'm not sure in the long run as of right now how much this will save you if you are an avid febreezer. But I do feel it would seriously take down the smell good cost and you can control how potent the smell is with added fewer or more beads to the bottle.

Plus if you haven't had time to do the laundry but this shirt you only wore a couple of hours from Wednesday needs a quick touch up spray a couple of sprays on it and BAM! It smells like it was just taken out of the dryer!

Anyway, I use this on my curtains, couch, mattresses whenever I deep clean them to give them a little more oomph life. I use this on everything I don't want to take down and wash every other week and things I can only spot or "top" clean and I've gotten a few compliments on how fresh everything smelled.

Back to School.

It's that time of year again..

Kids are going back to school and work at home moms are hustling to get side jobs or add another job onto their plates now that they have a few extra hours without kids to get more done..

Also another time to start buying up Christmas gifts and back to school clothing.

I have recently found an AMAZING clothing site in which gives you money when you first start shopping with them.. But wait, not only do they give you $20, but if you can get someone else to order from them they'll give both of you $20, and who doesn't love getting  $20 off something they were already going to buy anyway.. Right?! Thredup is a place that I plan to shop until my kids are all grown up and out of school, they're deals are great and the clothing is in perfect condition!

So, here is my link  http://www.thredup.com/r/HVGOJZ

This site is a slightly used clothing supply but honestly when my children's shoes got in I thought they were straight from the Sperry shop. Yes Sperry, they sell name brand clothing which goes through an vigorous check before its put up for sale and not only do they sell things, but if you need to clean your closet out as well they'll send you a bag with prepaid shipping so that they can sell your things as well, who doesn't wanna clean out a closet and make a little cash as well?!

So, if you wanna just try them out and see what its like you can click the link above, and if you want to get $20 off your first order and allow me to get $20 as well, then have a go.

I'm sure you'll find something you love!

Here is a picture of the shoes I ordered, just so you can see how AMAZING they're clothing and shoes are!

Ants...

No matter what I do, every year I have the same problem with ants. I usually make sure to keep crumbs and dishes, counters and my whole kitchen clean, but somehow these little demons figure out ways in which to get in a aggravate me entirely. I have found a solution in which it has a double life. I make my own cleaners as I would love to be able to breath without thinking I am dying or want harmful chemicals in my house around my kids, so therefor. I make a vinegar, water, soap cleaner. Which is just a mixture I have NEVER measured out of a little more than half a spray bottle of vinegar, probably around 1-2 Tbsp of dawn dish soap, the blue original (which has tons of different uses other than just washing dishes) and the rest fill with water. I use this to clean my counters my tables, my walls when everything is going wrong and food ends up in odd places. I even use this to clean my mirrors and windows.

My kids think it smells horrible but when compared to most other cleaners they swear they'd rather smell that stinky vinegar. It even gets out stains. I.E. my kids love to be grown and I encourage them to do things on their own but sometimes they have slips ups and spills, one instance was when my 10-year-old tried to pour some juice from a full gallon jug he spilt some onto the table, rather than telling me he just covers it up with a plate. Needless to say, it stays there until I gather up dishes later that evening and I find this red sticky dried up stain on my table. I immediately grab my cleaner and I honestly didn't think it was going to get this out, but I sprayed and let it sit for just a few seconds, and wiped away the red. Now, he makes sure to tell me from now own to keep from having a stained up or smelly kitchen.

Uh-oh, I've been rambling talking about how great vinegar cleaner is rather than about the intention of this post. Anyway, ants in the kitchen, I know the whole borax and sugar stuff, but with having kids that forget why things are where and if they're okay or not and something like that sitting on my bar is just something I would rather not deal with. So, What I do is if I find this little buggars in the house I grab my vinegar cleaner. This stuff KILLS ants. not on contact but after a minute or two they are dead like, completely dead and the best part is that once I find them spray them and let them pass on I wipe them up spray once more and back to being super clean. So, if you want a cleaner and a killer which is both safe and cheap for your family I'd suggest trying out this vinegar spray.

Next time I'll tell you about my stain remover/freshener for EVERYTHING.

Coffee Sugar Scrub

I know I know, I've been away too long. I promise I will keep up now.

Today I'm going to give away this awesome recipe for a body scrub. It gets off old dead skin and also revitalizes your body afterwards. I am absolutely in love with this scrub and try to use it at least once a week if not more if I feel that I really need it.

So what I do is I take one cup give or take of coconut oil, the same brand from my tanning oil. I mix it with my mixer until it gets all soft frothy and thick. Then I mix in 10 drops of peppermint essential oil, I use the NOW brand. Add in the coffee and sugar then mix it another couple of minutes with the mixer. I have a small ice tray that I use only for these scrub cubes and usually one is all I need. I leave them in the freezer indefinitely just in a freezer safe zipper bag once they have formed the cube shape and I get them out around 5-10 minutes before I get into the shower.

So just to go back over.

-1 cup coconut oil
-1/2 cup coffee
-1/4 cup sugar
- 10 drops of peppermint oil

I have tried adding in lavender essential oil to, with use before bed in the shower if you would like those but do not mix a coconut smelling coconut oil with lavender the smell is very... Different, and not in a good way.

These are by far the best body scrubs I have used, and not because I made them but because I would rather have something I know the ingredients of rubbing my skin and how amazing the benefits of both coffee and coconut oil are for the skin. :)

--I promise I will add a picture of a couple of mine later.

Salutations

Hello,

I'm Felisha, mom of three gorgeous kids and one amazing husband.

I have a 10-year-old his name is Bryce and he is mama's boy, without a doubt, he is my first born and my most inverted child. He likes to keep to himself and would stay on his Xbox if I allowed him to.

Then there is Lilly, my 6-year-old middle child, who is my little zen baby. She is very open with her feelings and opinions. She loves to meditate while outside and can become very emotional if she does not get her rest, but hey can't we all.

Lastly, we have Alex (first name Rileigh) she likes to be Ally Cat or Kitty as well. She has a huge obsession with Diego and cats if you couldn't tell. She is my stay at home child since she's only three. She's the most rambunctious of the three and I'm guessing it's because she the youngest but she has me on my toes daily.

Jordan, who I'm sure I will mention enough times in this is my soul-mate and husband. I fall in love with my husband more and more every day, not only because of course he's my husband but for all the little things he can do and remember that I do not expect from him. He works everyday from 6am to 3pm to provide the most substantial income for our home and even though he works that much he always comes home with a smile and has enough energy to play with our kids, help me cook dinner, to even giving out hair washes at bathtime. He's a pretty amazing partner to have in this journey of parenthood and growing old.

Now, myself, I am quite young to be in the life that I am, at 25 years old. My birthday is in August if you'd like to remember and wish me a happy birthday. Now, that we're passed my age which is sometimes a shock to people. I am a frugal mother so if I can make it at home and its cheap I will most definitely do it rather than waste money on something I do not know all the ingredients of and would prefer to do myself. I also have a knack for making dread beads for my hair which I think I've made some pretty cute ones, I'm debating on starting to sell some. Also, I have dreadlocks, you know the matted up strands of hair that most Rastafarian people have. Yeah, those, well they're in my head as well only I am not and do not claim to be Rastafarian, I have them because I thought they were a beautiful hair style my whole life. I grew up wanting these things in my hair but my mother never allowed and since I am on my own I have them. I keep them clean I wash them accordingly and keep them from looking crazy and poofy and just not maintained. I work from home as an independent consultant and a virtual assistant at the moment, but I always keep my eyes open for more opportunities. At this time, I will not mention the companies I work with, not for, as I'm independent which means I signed a contract with them I am not an official employee and I have to pay my own taxes. I like gardening and growing my own foods and flowers. I use essential oils to combat most of any kind of sickness my family acquires and I love being spiritual and meditating, I'm also on that journey as of recently. I want to know more about the universe and my higher self.

For right now that's about all I can think of, even though I am sure it will come up, I can explain more about my family and myself.
